Lake Springfield park in Springfield, Missouri is 158 acres of rolling parkland with three different hiking trails, a large boathouse for celebrations, woods, bluffs, and a mile of shoreline along the gorgeous lake. Come enjoy the natural beauty of this park.


Let’s start with the trails, the first trail is the Lake Springfield Park Trail. This trails 1.4 miles long and begins near the boat launch. This trail follows a section of the Greater Ozark Audubon Trail, then keep following the trail through the woods and you will run across the Northwoods Pavillion and connect to the James River Greenway Trail. The James River Greenway Trail is a paved 1.74 miles and and great for fishing. Parking for this trail is acceible through the Boathouse. The third trail is the Greater Ozarks Audubon Trail, this is a rugged trail overlooking Lake Springfield. The best view of Lake Springfield is at Eagle Point. The trailhead for this trail is near the boat launch area.


Hiking is not the only available activity at this park, you can also rent a boat and explore the James River Water Trail.Explore the water trail at your own pace by renting from an assortment of boats, canoes , sups and kayaks, both tandem and solo. These items are available on a first come first serve basis and you must be 18 to rent a boat. Lake Springfield Park also offers rentals of the Boathouse for special events. The venue seats 80 and is secluded within the beautiful indoor setting. It includes a full kitchen, a spacious deck overlooking the gorgeous lake with breathtaking views. Call to inquire about rental rates.
